Losing a friend: Why Memorial Day is more than just a day.
June 4, 2009
Walt Auxter gives us a better understanding of why Memorial Day is sometimes a daily routine for many veterans. Walt was born in Fremont, Ohio and served with the 44th Division, 324 Inf, Company F which was comprised of many Fremont natives. Walt talks in depth about a close friend who was killed. A memory that has never faded, as Walt thinks of him daily… and visits his grave on a regular basis.
To the general public Memorial day is simply a day off work, or a day to honor our fallen veterans. To the veterans through all generations, who have seen their fallen brothers…. Memorial Day is an everyday event.
Please Turn up your volume: I apoligise this is as loud as I could get the audio volume.
