Erro (Mike) Michelson was born and raised in DeKalb, ILL. He worked like any man of the time period. What sets him apart from the average man is his strong dedication.
The pilots and crew knew that had a certain number of missions to fly before their war was over. The misson number contuned to climb as the German air forces slowly declined. Mike decided to contune flying as long as he could. He figured will all the training and experance it would be foolish to just stop and go home.
A crash landing began to shake his nerves, and after his 53rd mission he decided to call it quits.A true determination story that really gives us insight into the life and thoughts of a forgotten veteran.
