Engineering War

May 20, 2009

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Don Ash was a hardworking young man. He attended high-school during the day, and worked 2 different jobs during the night.

His hard work ethic landed him in the mobile 175th combat Engineer’s in the 75th Infantry Division. His war in Europe was not that of a typical front line solider. His job was to do whatever it took to keep the troops moving forward. This entailed, removing mines, booby traps, and building bridges among other things. This is his story.
