Far from home

April 23, 2009

Jim Peake lived a simple life growing up. He had a job working for Ohio Bell straight out of high school. He had no where else in the world he needed to be. He called Toledo, Ohio his home until history had other plans for him.

Pearl Harbor was bombed, and his life like many others changed for ever. He ended up in the China-Burma-India Theater during World War 2.

When he left the United States, he would travel for 54 days to reach India. He would not return home for 3 years. This is his story, and memories.
