Memorial Day Salute

Armed Forces Day

Rick and Myself headed to Findlay, Ohio ( home of Big Ben Rothlisberger ) for Armed Forces Day.
This is just a small example of the vehicle parade they had during the day. They also had a reenactment battle, military flea market, and a traveling museum from Marlboro Volunteers. Read more

Pfc. Warren Werling WW2 Coastal Artillery

Rick and I had the chance to sit down with Warren and talk to him about his experiences. If you notice in the video he has a very nice photo album which had so great photos of coastal artillery. One of the pictures we believe is Warren sanding next to one of the Guns of the USS Arizona. Read more

Civil War Reenactment Education

World War:Corporal Albert Vernier

On July 15, 1917 the National Guard of Ohio was called into Federal Service. On 18 July 1917 National Guard troops from Ohio and West Virginia are directed to form the 37th Division. On 25 August 1917, concentration begins at Camp Sherman, OH.
Movement overseas on 20 May 1918 and was completed by 18 July 1918 and Corporal Albert Vernier, a twenty year old from Stryker, Ohio was there. He wrote home to his father and mother and several of his letters survive and give us a glimpse of a infantry soldiers life in World War One. Read more
